My journey with computers started very early on. The first time I tried to use the computer was in 2002 (I was 3 years old and was just pushing the buttons). After I discovered the power button, I started to learn how to use the mouse. Now I was able to open already downloaded games, and also browse the internet (2004, 5 years old).
At these times I would find every book in our house which had images (from technology magazines to old engineering books or maps). I also discovered my love for art and music, especially for drawing. I would try to copy what I see in the books, or I would pause the TV and would draw the cartoon characters that I liked.
There were a lot of CDs in our house (whether it was for demos of applications, or some games; these CDs were mostly from a magazine called Chip) so I would put a CD on the PC and would check its contents. I would then see the demos of the games and play them until I am bored. I was mesmerized by computer games and wanted to learn how can I also make similar things.
2005 - Grade school: Learning to read Latin letters (I already learned Arabic letters much earlier to be able to read the Quran). My favorite subject was math, and I would tell I was going to be a scientist when I grew up.
After I learned how to read, I also taught myself programming languages. I found a video course on batch scripting and made some simple console applications (2008, 9 years old). I found Visual Studio and taught myself Visual Basic (2009, 10 years old). I would use its drag-and-drop interface to make simple windows application UIs, and then add some codes to the UI elements.
2009 - Middle school: With my allowance, I started my own subscription to the Tubitak's (Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council) 'Bilim Çocuk' and after some time to 'Bilim ve Teknik (Science and Technology)' magazines. I also started to rank high in all of the subjects (First in class, top 3 in the school).
I then found the Multimedia Fusion 2 and made some simple games with its easy-to-use interface (2010). I also found out about Kodu and tried to make the games I know inside the app.
2013 - High school: During these times I started a youtube channel with my friends and put the games we played together.
I downloaded Unity Game Engine and started to learn C# (2014). I also learned about multimedia technologies because I was working on editing our youtube videos.
2017 - University (Bachelor's degree): I met with a lot of people with the same passion for computers.
Working professionally.
2021 - University (Master's degree): I am working on my thesis right now.
